Chairman of the Computer Forensic Institute of Nigeria (CFIN), Mr. Olusade Adesola, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) and Auditor-General for the Federation and Chairperson, African Union Board of External Auditors, Mr. Aghughu Adolphus A. JP; FCNA, FCTI at the commissioning of The Office of the Auditor-General for the Federation (OAuGF) Forensic Laboratory on the 7th of June 9, 2021.

The Office of the Auditor-General for the Federation (OAuGF) Forensic Laboratory has been commissioned by Mr. Olusade Adesola, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) on June 7, 2021.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Adesola commended the Auditor-General for the Federation and Chairperson, African Union Board of External Auditors, Mr. Aghughu Adolphus A. JP; FCNA, FCTI   for his giant strides since assumption of office and the high standards of the laboratory noting the ICT tools acquired in line with international standards and best practices. “This facility would no doubt boost the audit standard of the office and add value to the anti-corruption campaign of the Federal Government”, he said.

 

Speaking earlier while welcoming the P.S, the Auditor-General for the Federation thanked the P.S for making time out of his busy schedule to grace the occasion and indicated that 21 forensic auditors and Examiners have been trained on contemporary forensic techniques for forensic audit, accounting and digital forensics. He further said that, “the trained forensic auditors will soon be on the field to conduct forensic audits of some revenue generating MDAs.

As then Director of Audit in 2017 and Chairman of the Budget Committee, I provisioned for the OAuGF Forensic laboratory and it is a privilege to be the same person to make the project a reality”, the Auditor-General further said. He thanked the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD) for their support that culminated in the Forensic Laboratory milestone.

The AuGF presented certificates of participation to the 21 forensic Auditors trained in Forensic and Digital Forensics along with membership certificates of the Computer Forensics Institute of Nigeria (CFIN). He commended them for their passion and charged them to remain worthy Ambassadors of the OAuGF wherever they are assigned to work. He said, “additional Auditors will be trained once the result of this pioneering exercise is evaluated”.

Earlier, Dr. Jimson Olufuye, OAuGF ICT consultant provided a comprehensive brief about the project and the deliverable which included details of the course outlines for the 2-week forensic training programme undergone by the Auditors and facilitated by Prof. Peter Olayiwola, CEO, Digital& Techno-Law Forensics Co. Ltd and Chairman of the Computer Forensic Institute of Nigeria (CFIN).

Present At the event were the Directors of audit including Mr. Michael Isiuku, Mr . Olasegun Oladosun and Mr. Benjamin Angbo among others.
